Citing your sources is an essential part of college research which allows you to acknowledge and use the works of others in your essays, research and assignments.
Any information that you did not create yourself must be credited using a citation method. The most popular citation styles are APA and MLA, and each has a set of rules for how citations should be formatted.
Citations should be used any time you take any words, ideas or information from another source, even if you rewrite it in your own words. All formats of information should be cited, including images, videos, and online sources.
Remember to ask your instructor which citation method they would like you to use!
