Census of Canada: StatsCan
Important Note: The 2016 Census used mandatory long-form data collection to gather detailed information about how Canadians live. The 2011 Census moved to a voluntary short-form to collect data. Statistics from the 2011 census are less detailed than any other year.
Population & Demography: StatsCan
Includes: Births and deaths, Mobility and migration, Population changes, Population estimates and projections.
Quarterly Demographic Estimates: StatsCan
Quarterly estimates of population for Canada, provinces and territories as well as statistics on the following components of population change: births, deaths, immigration, emigration, returning emigration, net temporary emigration, net non-permanent residents and interprovincial migration, the latter by origin and destination.

Open Data contains open data-sets from all departments in the Government of Canada and allows you to do a keyword search for your topic. This resource is currently in the pilot stages and not fully complete.
