Illustrated History of Canada's Native People: I Have Lived Here Since the World Began by Note on Problematic Language: During your research you may come across problematic terminology or language. This is primarily for two reasons; 1) Older resources may contain problematic and outdated terms. 2) Libraries often use international standards to catalogue our resources. Unfortunately, these standards take a long time to change. Both Library and Archives Canada and the Library of Congress are in the process of making changes to the Subject Headings used to classify our resources.
Due to changes in terminology over time, it may be necessary to search a variety of terms in the catalogue using the advanced search tools AND and OR.
