Regulations at the provincial level

All food premises are subjected to the requirements of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation.

"The CFIA is responsible for inspecting and regulating federally registered establishments (generally those that move food products across provincial or national boundaries)". Includes regulations on food licensing, labelling, food safety, preventive control plans, etc.

Ontario wines labelled with VQA appellations and other regulated terms are made to exacting standards. These standards are created under the Vintners Quality Alliance Act.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for administering licensing and regulatory regime for most aspects relating to the sale and service of alcohol in Ontario.
