Important News on 300 Adelaide St. E Library Learning Commons

After careful consideration, consultations with staff, and examining user metrics we have decided to close 300 Adelaide St. E. Library Learning Commons as of Aug 19th, 2024.

The Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts will use this space for the Food Science degree that is currently in development. This decision has been made in collaboration with CHCA leadership, the LLC and facility planning teams and reflects our commitment to optimizing College resources by centralizing services and staff where possible.

This centralization will allow us to improve services by providing a cohesive and comprehensive experience for students and faculty at our main LLC branches. All LLC services, except printing, will be transferred to the St. James Library Learning Commons at 200 King St. E.

All books previously hosted at 300 Adelaide St. E LLC have been moved to the St. James LLC.

Textbooks are in self-serve kiosks located outside of the SJ LLC. CHCA textbooks will be grouped together in the last kiosk, which is the one farthest from the library entrance. Students can open the kiosk using a physical student ID card; if needed, one can be requested online, or ask for assistance at the Library Learning Commons Help Desk.
