Communicating with the Library

You can communicate with the library staff with questions about specific items on your Readings & Learning Resources list or about general issues with your list.


To communicate with the library about an item on your list:

Step 1: 

  1. Click on the title of an item in your list OR roll your cursor over the title 
  2. Click Full Details 
  3. Click Message the Library
  4. Fill in your message and click SUBMIT

Step 2: 

  1. Your message will appear in your message thread.

Step 3: 

  1. Your notification icon within your list in D2L will indicate when you have received a reply from the library.
  2. Click on the notification icon to open the Notifications list.
  3. Click on the item in the Notifications list to go to the item message.

 


Step 4: 

  1. Click Message the Library.
  2. You will see a reply message from library staff.

To send a general message to the library about your Reading List:

  1. Click the Message icon on the right-hand side of the page; 'Discuss with Library' will appear
  2. When the message box opens type in your message.
  3. Click Send

Please Note: The notification and message retrieval process will be the same as for an message on an item.

Place a Book on Reserve

You can ask the library to place a print book on Reserve for your class.  Reserve loans are limited to three hours.
