Abstract: The Association for Preservation Technology International will hold its annual conference in Montreal. The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) invites the public to take part in its annual review of proposed changes to the national model codes. Complete audio and visual records of each presentation of two most recent BSI seminars, BSI 2006/07 on Sustainable Infrastructure and BSI 2007/08 on Fire Safety Research for Better Building Design can be purchased on NRC website. Two new technical digests about performing basements are added to the Construction Technology Updates series and are now available on the NRC-IRC website. NRC-IRC has initiated a major project with the goal to contribute to better occupant health through improved air quality in buildings. The three-pronged activity will study the correlation between ventilation, air quality and health, develop methods to assess technologies that are presumed to improve air quality, and provide a national forum for decision-makers.
